U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL PRESENTS:
Advancing Existing Building Performance with AI
From value to scale: readiness, trust, and responsible adoption
Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how buildings are operated but most organizations are still navigating how to apply it effectively.
This series explores how AI and digital tools can transform existing building performance by turning fragmented data into actionable insights, improving decision-making, and enabling continuous improvement across energy, carbon, and occupant outcomes.
Focused on real-world application—not just technology—this program examines what it takes to implement AI responsibly at scale, from data readiness to governance, workflows, and performance measurement.

ABOUT THE SERIES
Through a curated set of webinars, panels, and workshops, this series builds a shared understanding of how AI can support better performance in existing buildings. It focuses on real-world applications and gives decision-makers practical tools and insights to evaluate and apply AI in their day-to-day operations.
The series looks at how AI can turn building data into useful information that supports smarter decisions across energy use, carbon reduction, occupant experience, and overall building performance. It also addresses what it actually takes to put these solutions into practice, including data readiness, system integration, team workflows, governance, cybersecurity, and how to measure results.
This is part of an annual USGBC series that explores key topics shaping the built environment. Each cohort moves from foundational concepts into more detailed discussions on implementation, governance, and emerging approaches. The goal is to help participants move from early interest to clear, practical next steps for using AI to improve existing building performance.
