The Financial & Economic Value of Green Buildings
Turning evidence into stronger market signals for green buildings
This invitation-only convening will bring together leaders from finance, real estate, research, policy, and the green building industry to examine the financial and economic performance of green buildings. Through an evidence-based presentation and structured discussion, participants will examine the state of research on the value of green buildings and how these findings are communicated and reflected in real world decisions.
Insights from the session will inform two lasting outcomes: a USGBC thought leadership publication for finance, real estate, and policy audiences and a prioritized research agenda that USGBC and partners can pursue over the next two to three years. Participants will help identify gaps in the current evidence, strengthen the financial case for green buildings, and shape the questions that should guide future research.

WHY ATTEND?
Examine the Market Evidence
Explore what current research reveals about green premiums, brown discounts, occupier demand, rent premiums, and the role of certification.
Expand the Definition of Value
Consider how energy savings, health and productivity, tenant retention, insurance costs, and operational resilience contribute to financial performance.
Contribute to Industry Thought Leadership
Share research and cross-sector perspectives that will inform a USGBC publication for finance, real estate, and policy audiences.
